Ductwork Refurbishment to Prevent Mold

​Air duct cleaning is more than cleaning air ducts.  A more appropriate term to use would be “HVAC system cleaning”  (HVAC means heating, ventilating and air conditioning).  The HVAC system includes everything in the air stream including all the registers, grilles and diffusers, the supply ductwork, the return ductwork, turning vanes, the air handler or rooftop unit and other components like VAV boxes, and in-line coils etc.….

Moisture Management in Tiled Showers

​ Leaks and mold continue to pose serious problems for the construction industry. This seminar will compare traditional waterproofing systems with modern waterproofing technology to show how tiled showers have evolved.
The fundamentals of both approaches, including proper design, execution, and function will be presented, with close attention paid to common errors, as well.
The benefits of bonded waterproofing technology and how it has improved tiled showers will be stressed.

 Roof Preservation: A Sustainable Option

​This course is a discussion about extending the service life of an existing roof through restoration. We will explore the various options and materials available and identify which types of roof systems are best candidates for roof restoration.

Kristophor C. Linster, P.E., RRC, LEED AP, CDT, CEP is a building envelope engineer with Tremco CPG, Inc. and the Founder of the Building Enclosure Council of Jacksonville. Mr. Linster practices in the areas of design and bidding assistance, project administration of various building enclosure and waterproofing projects including project submittal review, documenting and trouble-shooting field conditions, WUFI hygrothermal software modeling, and product research.  Additional responsibilities include construction monitoring and commissioning observation and reporting, as well as overseeing water penetration and air infiltration diagnostic projects.

How the rising cost & maintenance of OA flow monitoring devices, increasing demand for IAQ measurement within buildings and the worst hiring environment in our lifetime drove the University to rethink OA measurement technology and methodology.  This presentation outlines the University of North Florida and Facility Automation Solutions pursuit to find an alternative solution to replace OA flow stations in campus buildings with less costly, more reliable hardware while maintaining campus IAQ goals.
