It seems winter is still keeping its grip on the country as we move into spring, it is time for us all to make our spring conference plans and get ready to enjoy the hospitality of the Ringling College of Art & Design and the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota, Florida.This is the 9^th Annual FLAPPA Educational Conference, May 15^th through the 17^th of May.Final vendor layouts, educational programming and schedules for each day’s events are almost finalized.The Ringling College Host Committee has been working with the FLAPPA Board and Working Group to make sure everything is ready to go and on schedule. I invite you to make your plans early, make your hotel reservations along with making your list of who is going to attend with you this year.This is a great opportunity for your staff to interact with others who have the same concerns, questions and great ideas on how to do their jobs in facilities management.Thanks to our Business Partners, who help make the conference possible, we all have a chance to learn of new products and techniques to help us in our day to day jobs, from Housekeeping to HVAC and beyond, there is something of interest for everyone.

This is a special conference for me as it is on the Ringling College Campus and being the Assistant Vice President and Director of Facilities Operations and the outgoing President of FLAPPA, I have a chance to showcase Ringling College and the efforts of our Host Committee as well as the efforts of FLAPPA to make this the best conference ever.It is with great pride that I share our college with you as well as pride in the efforts of the FLAPPA Board, the Working Group and Host Committee to put a conference of such quality and value together for you.I know the challenges we all face in our day to day jobs, but it is with a great sense of accomplishment that we look forward to a new board taking the reins of the chapter and as other Past Presidents have learned before me, a time to watch others take the ideas, the hard work of our members, and keep moving FLAPPA forward as the premier facilities management professional organization in the State of Florida.For the moment though, our focus is on the present, the many details still to work through and the conference to begin in a very few weeks.I hope you can share this with me; I am looking forward to a great event with you all.I would like to draw your attention to the page on our website, Conference Scholarship Application; FLAPPA is offering a $500 scholarship/sponsorship to each and every member institution, current as well as new institutional members.We recognize that times are still difficult for many of our organizations, but it is our hope that this will help you participate in this year’s conference.Please take advantage of this opportunity, plan now to attend, and I look forward to seeing you all at the FLAPPA conference in Sarasota in May.It will be a time to share with each other, enjoy and learn about the Ringling College of Art & Design, reconnect with your peers, participate in FLAPPA, and continue to make this an event worthy of your time.I will see you there!
